5/1/14 With a heart as big as Texas, it's hard to figure out why Brownie is homeless! This adorable 5 week old, pit mix puppy was dumped at our shelter obviously by a careless owner who didn't see the need in fixing his dog. Once again, 'Let's make my problem someone else's problem and 'donate' the pups to the shelter'. We see this all too often, but the sad part to this story is we ALL know the problem we face of placing Pit and Pit mix dogs. We can only hope someone will see these babies for what they are...precious, well socialized, sweet-as-can-be angels and look past their breed. They are in a foster home now where life consists of lots of playing and naps! At the moment these babies do not have a care in the world, however, we as shelter volunteers certainly do! We pray they will find loving homes before they get too old and are judged for the unfortunate breed they were born. Please help spread the word...we have 6 to place in great homes! Included in the $50.00 adoption fee is the rabies shot and altering when the pup is old enough. Please save lives by adopting from shelters and rescues and by spaying and neutering your own pets!
